Spreak All Around The World: Frankfurt
Frankfurt was... interesting to say the least. It all started out fine and dandy. The sun was shining and it felt like maybe if I closed my eyes I could imagine I was at the beach for half a second. Actually no, there is no way I could do that...
We went to see the cool square we had seen on Pinterest (see below). Really all we wanted was a giant pretzel and a coke. It became our mission. We finally found a place that had average pretzels (Auntie Anne's is still better) and a spot in the sun to eat and relax. So we settled.
Shortly after deciding to head to a new area of town, Maggie realized she didn't have her wallet anymore. After talking to the police it turns out it was most likely stolen. Side note: I've never met someone who is so calm under a crazy circumstance. Not a tear was shed and she still managed to have a smile on her face. If I was in a crisis situation I would want Mags to be the girl with me.
We ended up walking, and walking and walking... we saw some interesting things such as but not included to: a lot of empty allies that should have been full of people, signs for weed, and feminine products in the middle of the road.
We had had it. 26,000 steps was getting to our heads and legs so we stopped for dinner. The waiter came over to ask us what we wanted to drink and we all said water out of exhaustion. He responded with a kind, "This is a restaurant! You're supposed to order a drink." He then proceeded to throw coasters at us and speak German under his breath. I'm sure they were all kind things.
It is safe to say we were all very excited to get out of Frankfurt.
