Captiva Island

The day after Christmas we drove the long (very long) drive down to Captiva Island Florida for a week in the sun. We have never been a winter in Florida family and I now have no idea why not. It was GLORIOUS. Sitting in the sun, swimming in the ocean, getting a little burnt, and seeing some freckles were foreign to me in the gloomy months of the winter but there is a place in the universe where it happens! God is so darn smart you guys. 

Yes, Luke and I got engaged, but we also spent a week with my family and it was so good and needed. It was just us and it was perfect. I'm so thankful for parents who make it a priority for us to get away as a family and enjoy each others company in a new and different place.
