Looking Ahead
Every year at the beginning of the summer I stand on the edge of the dock preparing myself to jump. I think to myself, "Something is GOING TO EAT ME. I can't see what I'm jumping into!" Then I take a deep breath and remember the joy the lake brings. I close my eyes and think about the wind rushing through my hair as my tube slams into my cousins and the screams of excitement and fear. Then I jump. That is exactly how I feel right now when I think about my upcoming summer as the video intern for a Young Life. I'm standing on the edge and I'm scared. I'm mostly scared of the unknown and that I can't see what I'm jumping into.
During spreak 2013 the song "Oceans" by Hillsong United was on repeat our entire vacation. Ever since then I have been sing-praying the lyrics:
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
California is the unchartered water that I have been sing-praying about. Its the scary deep murky water. But then I went to Colorado and went through video training and now I can hardly wait to jump. This is going to be a summer full of growth and stress and joy and friendships. This is where the Lord has called me. It is outside of my comfort zone but oh man it's gonna be good.
Bring it Woodleaf!
